About This Document
This Migration Playbook is a working document prepared by the KiwiCloud team to guide customers through the transition from iMinKit’s device management module to the KiwiCloud UEM platform. It is intended to serve as a practical reference for both the KiwiCloud team and the customer throughout the migration journey.
In this document, the term “Migration” refers to the system transition and data synchronization from iMinKit to the KiwiCloud UEM platform, including device data, grouping configurations, legacy policies, and account structures (including the iMinKit Official Account and all associated iMinKit Sub-accounts). During this process, data and configurations are converted into KiwiCloud platform-structured formats rather than transferred as-is. This migration does not constitute a full retirement of the iMinKit platform. iMinKit will continue to operate for basic account and device ownership operations beyond 2026.
This Playbook references several account types — including the iMinKit Official Account, iMinKit Sub-account, KiwiCloud Trial Account, KiwiCloud Migrated Account, and KiwiCloud Bridging Account. For complete definitions, cross-connections, and additional account types, refer to the separately distributed Appendix 1 – Account Types & Terminology.
This document will be continuously refined as the migration process evolves. Updates may cover the migration approach and process, the project-related document set, and customer-specific details such as migration windows and rollback criteria, all of which will be discussed and agreed with each customer.

1.Background and Purpose
1.1.The Two Platforms
iMinKit is iMin Tech’s platform for account management and device ownership, serving as the commercial and logistics layer between iMin Tech and its customers. Its core capabilities include:
- Device ownership — device overview, ownership lookup, transfer, allocation, and gifting (with inbound and outbound transfer history)
- Account management — company profile, partners, operators, support, and ticket records
Through integration with iMin Tech’s ERP system, device serial numbers (SNs) are imported into customer iMinKit accounts based on orders. While iMinKit has included a basic, non-policy-based device management capability, this capability will be retired by December 31, 2026. iMin APP Store management on iMinKit is discontinued from the point of official migration, except for My Apps, which remains available to customers until December 31, 2026, 23:59 and is no longer available from 2027. APP policies currently configured on iMinKit are migrated to the KiwiCloud UEM platform during official migration. iMinKit itself will continue to operate beyond 2026 for account management and device ownership operations.
After migration, iMinKit becomes a limited-access console focused on account management and device ownership (including transfer and allocation), while the KiwiCloud UEM platform delivers the customer’s device management, APP policies, remote assistance, scheduled tasks, notifications, and user authorization capabilities.
KiwiCloud is an independent, policy-driven UEM platform that serves as the successor to iMinKit’s device management functions. As a service provider to iMin Tech, the KiwiCloud platform offers significantly more powerful device and application management capabilities to customers of both iMin Tech and KiwiCloud. Customers pay a per-device, per-year license fee to KiwiCloud based on their selected license tier.
iMinKit and the KiwiCloud platform operate as independent platforms with separate authentication systems. After migration, a shortcut to the KiwiCloud platform appears in the upper-right corner of the enterprise iMinKit page, providing a direct entry point to the KiwiCloud platform login page. Customers log in to the KiwiCloud platform using the same credentials as their iMinKit account. After a successful official migration, the KiwiCloud platform account password can be changed independently by the customer and may differ from the iMinKit password.
1.2.Why Migrate?
To continuously enhance device enrollment, policy delivery, application management, remote assistance, map and geofence services, reporting, and related capabilities, the relevant device management functions currently handled through iMinKit will be gradually migrated to the KiwiCloud platform. The migration is driven by the following business needs:
- End of the IoT Service: iMin Devices connect to iMinKit through an IoT service, and all device configuration and application installation is delivered through this IoT service. However, iMinKit’s IoT service provider, Ali Cloud, has decided to terminate its IoT business and will gradually shut down existing IoT services.
- Platform Modernization: iMinKit’s device management module has reached its functional ceiling and no longer meets the evolving demands of modern enterprise device management. The KiwiCloud platform is purpose-built to address current and future operational needs with scalable, policy-driven architecture.
- Operational Efficiency: iMinKit’s fragmented management approach, where rules for app installation, uninstall prevention, blacklists, and permissions must be configured separately, creates significant administrative overhead. The KiwiCloud platform consolidates these controls into unified policies, reducing repetitive operations and human error.
- Enhanced Security: The KiwiCloud platform introduces advanced encryption technologies including TLS encryption and SigV4 signatures, alongside granular access controls, addressing security gaps present in iMinKit.
- Data Protection and Regional Compliance: The KiwiCloud platform leverages the global infrastructure of AWS Cloud services, with dedicated regional service nodes in Europe (Frankfurt), USA (Virginia), China (Beijing), and Singapore (Singapore City). This architecture ensures data remains within its designated region, supporting data residency requirements and local regulatory compliance. Remote access is also initiated from the corresponding regional service node to further align with jurisdiction-specific regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance for Application Publishing: From 2027 onwards, public application publishing will move to a regulated approval process on the KiwiCloud platform and the Google Play Store, replacing iMinKit’s current model where public apps are exposed to all iMin Devices without a regulatory review procedure. This change is driven by Google regulatory requirements and the need to prevent copyright issues, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable regulations.
- Kiosk Remote Accessibility: The iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application is upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance as part of the migration process. This enables IT administrators to remotely access and manage devices operating in kiosk mode using the globally recognized AnyDesk remote access solution, significantly improving support responsiveness and reducing on-site intervention requirements.
- Enhanced Log Management: The KiwiCloud platform introduces an enhanced device log system that enables structured troubleshooting and issue resolution across both Tier-1 and Tier-2 technical support functions, providing greater diagnostic visibility and accelerating incident resolution.
- Geolocation-Based Management: The KiwiCloud platform introduces geolocation capabilities, including a devices map for real-time visibility of device locations and geofencing to define geographic boundaries that trigger automated policy actions. These capabilities enable more proactive and location-aware device management, something iMinKit does not support. (Available under KC Enhanced license only.)
- Patch Management and OTA Updates: The KiwiCloud platform includes a dedicated, independent Over-The-Air (OTA) update platform, currently provided free of charge to all customers, enabling centralized management of software patch releases and firmware upgrade policies across the entire device fleet.
- Strategic Product Roadmap: iMin Tech has designated the KiwiCloud platform as its exclusive UEM platform going forward. The retirement of iMinKit’s device management module by December 31, 2026 makes this migration both strategically critical and time-bound.
- Business Continuity: The migration is designed to ensure that end-user device operations continue without interruption. Upon migration completion, iMinKit’s device management module will be retired. However, iMinKit will remain available for basic account and device ownership operations.
2.Scope范围
2.1.What is Being Migrated
The migration covers the synchronization and transition of the following from iMinKit to the KiwiCloud UEM platform:
- The iMinKit Official Account and all associated iMinKit Sub-accounts (full organizational hierarchy), accessible on the KiwiCloud platform using the same email credentials as iMinKit
- All enrolled devices. Devices will automatically appear in the customer’s KiwiCloud Migrated Account upon migration, including new devices imported from iMin Tech’s ERP system in the future
- Configuration data, including device and APP polices, compliance rules, boot animations, secondary screen ads, permission settings, and scanner configurations
- Other than the addition of the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade policy on the iMinKit platform — which are the mechanism by which the migration itself is enabled on devices — the migration process does not alter the existing data and configurations in the customer’s iMinKit Official Account on the iMinKit platform. Device data, grouping configurations, APP policies, and account structures on iMinKit remain intact throughout the migration. Data and configurations are synchronized to the KiwiCloud UEM platform, not removed or modified on the iMinKit side.
- The following are not included in the migration and will not be inherited by the KiwiCloud platform:
- Logs (system logs, operation logs, and device logs)
- Authorization configurations on iMinKit — not migrated, as menu structures and functionalities differ between iMinKit and the KiwiCloud platform. Customers configure authorization on the KiwiCloud platform after migration.
Capability Coverage Before and After Migration
The following table summarizes how each customer-facing capability is delivered before and after migration.
| Capability | Before Migration | After Migration |
|---|---|---|
| Account Management | iMinKit | iMinKit |
| Device Ownership (transfer and allocation) | iMinKit | iMinKit |
| Device Management | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
| APP Store | iMinKit (My Apps available) | Discontinued |
| APP Policies | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
| Remote Assistance | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
| Scheduled Tasks | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
| Notifications | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
| User Authorization | iMinKit | KiwiCloud UEM platform |
- My Apps, an iMin APP Store management function on iMinKit, remains available to customers until December 31, 2026, 23:59; from 2027 onwards, My Apps will no longer be available on iMinKit. All other iMin APP Store management functions are no longer available on iMinKit from the point of Official Migration.
- Customers who do not want end users to browse and download apps from the iMin APP Store no longer need to blacklist the iMin APP Store after migration, because it becomes an APP viewer: end users can only view the APPs already installed on their devices.
- Customers are advised to familiarize themselves with the corresponding capabilities on the KiwiCloud UEM platform during pre-migration engagement, to ensure a smooth transition.
iMin APP Store — Availability and Changes from 2027
The upgraded iMin APP Store will remain available on devices after migration, allowing end users to review applications installed on their devices through app policies deployed by the KiwiCloud platform. However, from 2027 onwards, the function allowing end users to download and install public applications published by other customers will no longer be available. This change is driven by Google regulatory requirements and the need to prevent copyright issues. Currently, when a customer publishes a public application to iMin APP Store, the application is exposed to all iMin Devices without a regulatory review procedure.
From 2027, public application publishing will be handled through an approval process on the KiwiCloud platform and the Google Play Store, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Admin Policies Replace End-user Installs
Opening Framing — As part of the migration, iMinKit’s APP management module retires alongside the device management module on December 31, 2026. APP management functions move to the KiwiCloud platform, fundamentally changing how applications reach devices.
- End-users can no longer download or install APPs through the iMin APP Store on iMin Devices.
- The iMin APP Store on the device becomes an application viewer only, showing the APPs already installed via KiwiCloud-deployed policies.
- On Android 14+ devices, this viewer role is provided by KC APP (the KiwiCloud-managed equivalent).
- System administrators select and add public APPs released by third parties to the customer’s APP library on the KiwiCloud platform.
- Administrators then configure policies to install selected APPs on selected devices (or device groups). This gives administrators full control over which applications appear on which devices — replacing the open-store browser model with a curated, policy-driven model.
- iMinKit 正式账号及其所有关联的 iMinKit 子账号(完整组织层级结构),可使用与 iMinKit 相同的邮箱凭证在 KiwiCloud 平台上访问;
- 所有已入网设备。设备将在迁移后自动出现在客户的 KiwiCloud 已迁移账号中,包括未来从一敏科技 ERP 系统导入的新设备;
- 日志(系统日志、操作日志和设备日志);
| APP Store | iMinKit(“我的应用”可用) | 已停用 |
- 终端用户将无法再通过一敏设备上的应用商店下载或安装应用;
- 设备上的应用商店将仅作为应用查看器,展示已通过 KiwiCloud 下发策略安装的应用;
- 系统管理员在 KiwiCloud 平台上,为客户的应用库选择并添加由第三方发布的公开应用;
2.2.Which Customers Need to Migrate
Customers who need to migrate
Customers who need to use KiwiCloud for device and application management. iMinKit’s device and application management capabilities will be taken over by KiwiCloud, with significant improvements. Customers who currently manage devices and applications through iMinKit can continue to manage them on KiwiCloud after migration.
Customers who hold a Sub-account do not need to apply for migration. A Sub-account cannot be migrated on its own; it is migrated together with its Main Account (see Appendix 1). A customer who holds a Sub-account and wishes to migrate ahead of its Main Account needs to contact the Main Account holder (for example, a device distributor or reseller) and the CSE (Customer Service Engineer) team, so that the account is moved out of the original Main Account’s hierarchy and becomes a Main Account in its own right. A customer who is unsure whether the account it holds is a Sub-account should ask its dedicated CSE, or the reseller authorized by iMin Tech (that is, the party that helped the customer create the iMinKit account).
Customers who do not need to migrate
Customers who, apart from device ownership management on the iMinKit platform, are not currently using iMinKit to manage devices and applications — for example, customers who already manage GMS-certified devices with a third-party MDM system. If these customers need to use KiwiCloud in the future, we can still migrate them at that time.
Devices that run deeply customized firmware — with all iMin Tech applications, services and SDKs removed (such as the iMin APP Store, the Auto Install service and the Ali Cloud IoT interface) — that is also not GMS-certified (Google Mobile Services removed) could not be managed on iMinKit in the first place. After migration, these devices still cannot be managed on the KiwiCloud platform, so they are not included in the scope of this migration project.
A customer who holds both devices outside the migration scope (devices running the deeply customized firmware described above) and devices within the migration scope can create a new iMinKit account and transfer (Transfer) the out-of-scope devices to it. This new account does not apply for migration, while the original account, which keeps the in-scope devices, can apply for migration as usual. Transferring these devices does not trigger a factory reset on the devices. The same approach can be used for devices of models marked “No test data” in Appendix 6, if you are not confident about the support these devices will get on KiwiCloud.
2.3.Device Management Modes
The KiwiCloud platform supports three device management modes. The appropriate mode for each device is determined by the customer’s license tier and device type:
| Mode | Full Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| IMA | iMinKit Managed Access | Management mode in which devices connect to iMinKit through the Ali Cloud IoT interface. No KC APP installation required. |
| KMA | KiwiCloud Managed Access | KiwiCloud platform native, policy-based management with richer app and policy enforcement. Enrollment and management completed via the KC APP in most cases. |
| GMA | Google Managed Access | Managed through Google’s official Android Management API (AMAPI) framework under Android Enterprise. |
- Device eligibility for each management mode is determined by the device’s Android OS version and GMS certification status:
- Devices running non-GMS certified iMin Tech-custom Android OS 13 or below, the majority of legacy iMin Devices, are eligible for IMA mode only.
- Devices running GMS-certified Android OS 13 are eligible for both IMA and GMA modes.
- Devices running GMS-certified Android OS 14 and above are eligible for both KMA and GMA modes.
- Devices running non-GMS certified Android OS 14 and above are eligible for KMA mode only.
- KMA mode requires the KC APP to be installed as the management agent on devices.
- Note: non-GMS certified devices are ineligible for GMA mode regardless of license tier.
- 运行非 GMS 认证的一敏定制的 Android 13 及以下系统的设备(绝大多数存量一敏设备)仅适用于 IMA 模式;
- 运行 GMS 认证的 Android 13 系统的设备同时适用于 IMA 和 GMA 模式;
- 运行 GMS 认证的 Android 14 及以上系统的设备同时适用于 KMA 和 GMA 模式;
- 运行非 GMS 认证 Android 14 及以上系统的设备仅适用于 KMA 模式;
- KMA 模式要求设备安装 KC APP 作为管理代理的应用程序;
2.4.License Tiers
For the purposes of this document, the following license tier naming conventions apply:
- KiwiCloud Essential (hereinafter referred to as iMin Essential)
- KiwiCloud Enhanced (hereinafter referred to as KC Enhanced)
| License Tier | Applicability | IMA | KMA | GMA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free Lifetime iMin Essential License | Legacy devices and devices paid for before 23:59, June 30, 2026, including historical devices in this migration scope. License is tied to the physical device (by SN) until device retirement and cannot be reassigned to devices outside the stated scope. Transfers with the device upon ownership transfer. | ✓ | ✓ | ✕ |
| 60-day Complimentary iMin Essential License | A transitional grace period applicable to IMA-eligible devices only. To qualify, a device must have been purchased after June 30, 2026, and — prior to the customer’s iMinKit account being migrated — already activated and enrolled under iMinKit management via the IMA-specific activation and enrollment mechanism. At the moment the customer’s account is migrated, all such already-activated devices automatically receive a 60-day complimentary license; devices purchased in the same window but not yet activated at that point do not receive it. Once the customer’s account has been migrated, no device — regardless of its purchase or activation date — remains eligible for this transitional license. The license is not tied to the device and will not be transferred with the device upon ownership transfer. | ✓ | ✕ | ✕ |
| iMin Essential | Separately priced, per device/year and per device/3-year. | ✓ | ✓ | ✕ |
| KC Enhanced | Separately priced, per device/year and per device/3-year. Most advanced tier. Includes geolocation features (devices map and geofencing). | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
- Free Lifetime iMin Essential License intends to ensure that devices purchased on or before June 30, 2026 and already managed under iMinKit continue to receive managed capability on the KiwiCloud platform free of charge, for the lifetime of the device.
- 60-day Complimentary iMin Essential License intends to give devices purchased after June 30, 2026 — but already managed under iMinKit prior to migration — a period of continued managed capability on the KiwiCloud platform after migration.
- The Free Lifetime iMin Essential License is a device-bound, no-cost entitlement written into the device’s firmware at the factory. It does not draw from the IMA/KMA enrollment quota under either the iMin Essential or KC Enhanced license pools. For example, if a customer has purchased 1,000 KC Enhanced licenses, a device carrying the “Free Lifetime iMin Essential” flag that remains enrolled via IMA or KMA will not consume any of those 1,000 licenses.
- A device carrying the “Free Lifetime iMin Essential” flag — regardless of whether it was previously activated and managed under iMinKit — will consume a KC Enhanced license if it enrolls in GMA mode.
- The “60-day Complimentary iMin Essential” flag is an identifier granted within the KiwiCloud platform’s database at the moment the customer’s iMinKit account is migrated to KiwiCloud. If a device carrying this flag is unenrolled, retired, or transferred to another customer, the flag is cleared.
- While valid, a device carrying the “60-day Complimentary iMin Essential” flag does not draw from the IMA/KMA enrollment quota under either the iMin Essential or KC Enhanced license pools. After the flag expires, the device is not automatically factory-reset, but continued management of the device requires occupying a iMin Essential or KC Enhanced license.
IMA | KMA | GMA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2.5.In Scope
- Synchronization and transition of the iMinKit Official Account and all associated iMinKit Sub-accounts, devices, configurations, and policies from iMinKit to the KiwiCloud platform (excluding all log types). The customer’s organization structures and accounts are synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform automatically by the KiwiCloud platform system, triggered by the KiwiCloud team during the verification and migration phases (see Section 3).
- Device re-enrollment under the appropriate management mode (IMA/KMA/GMA) based on customer’s license tier and device type.
- iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance Upgrade: The legacy iMin APP Store and the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application will be upgraded during the migration process. The KiwiCloud team will create the upgrade policy for the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance on the iMinKit platform under the customer’s iMinKit Official Account (the team adds the two applications to it manually), assigned to test devices during test migration (Phase 3) and extended to all devices in official migration (Phase 4). Customers retain the ability to review released business applications in My Apps on the iMinKit platform until the module is retired on December 31, 2026, 23:59.
The upgrade is mandatory and silent: it is delivered to devices automatically through the upgrade policy and requires no action from end users.
Upon successful upgrade, the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application becomes KiwiCloud Remote Assistance — an updated version of the same application that acts as an agent enabling end users to initiate remote assistance requests. KiwiCloud Remote Assistance is capable of connecting to both the iMinKit original remote assistance service enabled through the third-party Sunlogin services and the KiwiCloud remote assistance service enabled through the third-party AnyDesk services:
- Before migration is performed: KiwiCloud Remote Assistance connects to the original iMinKit remote assistance service, ensuring remote assistance continuity during the pre-migration period.
- After successful migration and AnyDesk installation: KiwiCloud Remote Assistance connects to the KiwiCloud remote assistance service, enabling IT administrators to remotely access and manage devices using AnyDesk as the remote access solution.
This dual-service mechanism ensures that remote assistance remains available to end users throughout the entire migration process without interruption. KiwiCloud Remote Assistance is delivered through the upgraded iMin APP Store on the device.
After migration, the iMin Tech-developed remote assistance service is no longer provided. Once AnyDesk has been successfully installed, the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application on the device obtains the AnyDesk remote access ID (generated by AnyDesk) and uploads it to KiwiCloud. Using this remote access ID, the customer’s administrators can initiate active remote access requests to the device on KiwiCloud.
!Notes- Customers should ensure that iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance are not blacklisted on the iMinKit platform prior to migration, as blacklisting these applications will prevent the upgrade policy from being applied successfully. Early applicants whose applications are blacklisted can still migrate — see the notes under Phase 2.
- For iMin Devices running Android OS 14 and above, the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application and iMin APP Store are not pre-installed. The functions of these applications are performed by the KC APP, which serves as the management agent and comes pre-installed on such devices. The upgrade policy described above is therefore applicable to legacy devices running Android OS 13 or below only.
- AnyDesk and AD1 Deployment: After the customer’s device data has been synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform, AnyDesk and its AD1 plugin are installed on devices through the same KiwiCloud app release policy that carries the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade — four items in a single policy. The Migration Auto-Task adds AnyDesk and AD1 to this policy automatically as part of the migration process (see Section 3 for details), with the KiwiCloud system receiving policy creation instructions from the iMinKit system through API connection. The KiwiCloud team will verify the AnyDesk policy configuration to ensure it has been correctly applied.
- iMinKit Accounts and Device Ownership Operations Continuity: iMinKit will continue to support device ownership and allocation operations for the customer throughout and beyond the migration.
- Integration setup between the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform to enable ongoing automatic device synchronization
- Post-migration data validation and business workflow testing
- User onboarding, including guides, tutorials, and technical support
- AnyDesk 与 AD1 部署:客户的设备数据同步至 KiwiCloud 平台后,AnyDesk 及其 AD1 插件将通过同一个 KiwiCloud 应用发布策略安装至设备,该策略同时包含应用商店与远程协助的升级——四个项目合为一个策略。迁移自动任务会在迁移过程中自动将 AnyDesk 和 AD1 加入该策略(详见第 3 节),KiwiCloud 系统通过 iMinKit 系统与 KiwiCloud UEM 平台之间的 API 连接接收策略创建指令。KiwiCloud 团队将核实 AnyDesk 策略配置是否正确应用;
- iMinKit 账号与设备归属操作的连续性:iMinKit 将在迁移期间及之后,持续为客户提供设备归属和分配操作支持;
- 搭建 iMinKit 平台与 KiwiCloud 平台之间的集成,以实现持续的设备自动同步;
- 迁移后的数据验证与业务流程测试;
2.6.Out of Scope
- Custom development, feature modifications, or enhancements to the KiwiCloud platform
- Hardware procurement or physical device replacements
- Android OS Or Firmware Upgrades: Device OS and firmware versions will remain as-is throughout the migration. Any Android OS upgrade initiatives are a separate effort outside this project’s scope.
- iMinKit data not migrated to the KiwiCloud platform: all types of logs (system logs, operation logs, device logs); and authorization configurations on iMinKit (not migrated as menu structures and functionalities differ between the two platforms — to be re-configured by the KiwiCloud Super Admin after migration)
- Migration of data from any third-party MDM/UEM system other than iMinKit
- Devices running deeply customized, non-GMS-certified firmware: devices with all iMin Tech applications, services and SDKs removed (such as the iMin APP Store, the Auto Install service and the Ali Cloud IoT interface) and Google Mobile Services removed could not be managed on iMinKit in the first place and still cannot be managed on the KiwiCloud platform after migration, so they are not included in the scope of this migration project
- Infrastructure setup or cloud provisioning (fully managed by the KiwiCloud team)
- Full iMinKit Platform Shutdown: Only iMinKit’s device management module is being retired by December 31, 2026. iMinKit itself continues to operate for basic account and device ownership operations beyond 2026.
- 对 KiwiCloud 平台的定制开发、功能修改或功能增强;
- 硬件采购或实体设备更换;
- Android 操作系统或固件升级:设备的操作系统和固件版本在整个迁移过程中保持现状不变。任何 Android 操作系统升级计划均属于本项目范围之外的另行工作;
- 未迁移至 KiwiCloud 平台的 iMinKit 数据:所有类型的日志(系统日志、操作日志、设备日志);以及 iMinKit 上的授权配置(因两平台的菜单结构和功能存在差异而不予迁移 —— 迁移后由 KiwiCloud 超级管理员重新配置);
- 来自 iMinKit 以外任何第三方 MDM/UEM 系统的数据迁移;
- 运行深度定制、未通过 GMS 认证固件的设备:已移除所有一敏科技的应用、服务和 SDK(如 iMin APP Store、Auto Install 服务、阿里云 IoT 接口)及 Google Mobile Services 的设备,原本就无法在 iMinKit 上进行管理,迁移后仍无法被 KiwiCloud 平台管理,因此不包含在本次迁移项目范围之内;
- 基础设施搭建或云资源配置(完全由 KiwiCloud 团队负责管理);

3.Migration Approach
Pre-Project Engagement
This phase occurs before the formal migration project kicks off. It covers all early customer touchpoints and inquiries and is primarily driven by the customer’s own readiness and interest:
- Customer inquires about KiwiCloud migration via email, sales contact, or official channels;
- KiwiCloud team provisions a KiwiCloud Trial Account for the customer for initial exploration of KiwiCloud platform functions; Customer explores KiwiCloud platform functions using the KiwiCloud Trial Account, and may transfer test devices from their iMinKit Official Account to the KiwiCloud Trial Account for initial familiarization; (Optional)
- If a KiwiCloud Trial Account is provisioned, it must be registered with a different email address from the customer’s iMinKit Official Account email. If a KiwiCloud platform account (e.g. KiwiCloud Standalone Account) already exists under the same email as the iMinKit Official Account, the customer must confirm consent to the KiwiCloud team to clear all existing data on that KiwiCloud platform account before migration proceeds.
- Customer reviews Migration Playbook, Appendixes, FAQs and requests clarification on migration process, licensing, or timeline.
- KiwiCloud introduces and shares applicable project-related documents and operational videos (available on the KiwiCloud YouTube channel)
Formal Migration
The formal migration is executed in five phases on a per-customer basis. The KiwiCloud team will run multiple customer migrations in parallel, with standardized processes, checklists, and templates applied consistently across all customers to ensure quality and efficiency.
Migration Process Overview
Migration scheduling is planned by the KiwiCloud team on a per-customer basis, considering factors such as region, device models, and device quantity. It does not operate on a first-come-first-served basis. The KiwiCloud team will reach out proactively to align on a migration schedule and will keep customers informed ahead of any official migration action.
For customers who have purchased iMin Devices running Android OS 14 or above (eligible for KMA mode, and for GMA mode if GMS-certified), these devices no longer support IMA mode and therefore cannot be managed on the iMinKit platform; they require the KiwiCloud UEM platform from day one. In such cases, the KiwiCloud team provisions a KiwiCloud Bridging Account during Pre-Project Engagement to enable management of these devices on the KiwiCloud platform before the customer’s iMinKit Official Account has been officially migrated. The KiwiCloud Bridging Account is registered with a different email address from the customer’s iMinKit Official Account and is a transitional arrangement; it is consolidated once the customer’s iMinKit Official Account has been officially migrated. Refer to Appendix 1 – Account Types & Terminology for details.
- 客户通过邮件、销售联系人或官方渠道咨询 KiwiCloud 迁移事宜;
- 若开通 KiwiCloud 试用账号,该账号必须使用与客户 iMinKit 正式账号不同的邮箱进行注册。若同一邮箱下已存在 KiwiCloud 平台账号(如 KiwiCloud 独立账号),客户必须向 KiwiCloud 团队确认同意,在迁移开始前清除该 KiwiCloud 平台账号上的所有现有数据;
- 客户查阅迁移手册、附录、常见问题解答,并就迁移流程、许可授权或时间安排提出澄清需求;
3.1.Phase 1 – Application
This phase marks the official migration application window for customers, which opens after the pre-project engagement. Its duration will be contingent upon the progress of the Device Compatibility Test (abbr. DCT) being performed by the KiwiCloud team.
| # | Task | KiwiCloud | Customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.1 | Customer submits the Migration Application Form in the iMinKit system, providing: business peak and off-peak hours; project owner and contact information; and confirmation of the Migration Agreement. The form also presents the preconditions for migration for the customer’s review. | ✓ | |
| 1.2 | KiwiCloud team verifies that the Device Compatibility Test (DCT) covers the customer’s device models, Android OS versions, and firmware versions. | ✓ | |
| 1.3 | KiwiCloud team advances the migration application to Phase 2 based on a confirmed DCT coverage result.System process | ✓ |
- During this phase, a KiwiCloud Trial Account is optional for those customers who did not have KiwiCloud Trial Accounts.
- Some customers may have already been provided with KiwiCloud trial accounts prior to the this phase. These customers are welcome to continue exploring the KiwiCloud platform using these accounts until the official migration begins.
- DCT is designed based on the device models, Android OS versions, and firmware variants available in the global market. Its purpose is to verify whether the KiwiCloud platform supports all legacy iMin Devices across different OS and firmware versions, in the same way that iMinKit currently does.
3.2.Phase 2 – Preparation
Customers will be notified that they may proceed to this phase once the DCT has been completed for all their devices. The duration of this phase will be determined by each customer’s internal IT workflows.
| # | Task | KiwiCloud | Customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.1 | KiwiCloud team notifies the customer of the Phase 2 status update. The team then conducts a migration kick-off presentation, either through a live meeting or — if the customer prefers not to schedule one — by sending the presentation slides via email. | ✓ | |
| 2.2 | Customer confirms the date and time for the official migration, along with the regional service node. Or, assign test devices for the test migration (if applicable). | ✓ | |
| 2.3 | Customer prepares the network environment for the migration process: (1) network and firewall configuration (see Appendix 2); and (2) whitelisting of iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance. | ✓ | |
| 2.4 | Customer submits the Migration Readiness Checklist in the iMinKit system.System process | ✓ | |
| 2.5 | KiwiCloud team deletes the customer’s KiwiCloud Trial Account, if one has been provisioned. | ✓ | |
| 2.6 | KiwiCloud team updates the status of the customer’s migration application to the next phase.System process | ✓ |
- “Whitelisting” the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance (task 2.3): iMinKit has no whitelist function. Here, “whitelisting” does not mean adding the two applications to a whitelist; it means not adding them to the APP blacklist on iMinKit (whitelist = no blacklist). It is separate from the network and firewall allow-list in Appendix 2.
- Readiness Check and re-submission (task 2.4): The Readiness Check — which covers the migration region, email conflicts, and whether the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance are blacklisted — runs automatically when a migration application is submitted (see Appendix 5). Applications submitted before the check was introduced were not checked; these early applicants re-submit the migration application in Phase 2 so that the check runs. Customers who have already passed the check do not need to re-submit.
- Early applicants who do not re-submit, and whose applications are in fact blacklisted, can still migrate. After migration, the customer deletes the blacklist policy (synchronized from iMinKit) on the KiwiCloud platform under Configuration → App Push Restriction; the upgrade policy can then be pushed to the devices. However, AnyDesk may be temporarily unavailable after migration, because Remote Assistance was not upgraded before migration.
3.3.Phase 3 – Test Migration (Optional)
Should customers wish to verify the changes of the two iMin Tech applications, synchronization of data (including device groupings and organizational structures) between iMinKit and KiwiCloud, and the business continuity, they may initiate a test migration on their official iMinKit account using assigned test devices. The length of this phase will be contingent upon each customer’s verification progress.
| # | Task | KiwiCloud | Customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.1 | KiwiCloud team creates the application upgrade policy under the customer’s iMinKit Official Account, manually adding the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance to it, and applies it to test devices only.System process | ✓ | |
| 3.2 | Customer verifies that the upgrade policy has been successfully applied on test devices. | ✓ | |
| 3.3 | KiwiCloud team executes the Test Migration Auto-Task on the customer’s iMinKit Official Account; the iMinKit Official Account temporarily becomes a KiwiCloud Migrated Account.System process | ✓ | |
| 3.4 | Customer logs in to the KiwiCloud platform using their iMinKit Official Account credentials to verify data synchronization and business continuity (testing business applications and processes on test devices to confirm normal operation). | ✓ | |
| 3.5 | Customer confirms the success of the test migration. | ✓ | |
| 3.6 | KiwiCloud team rolls back the test migration. | ✓ |
iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance — Upgrade Verification Criteria
The upgrade is mandatory and silent: it is delivered to devices automatically through the upgrade policy and requires no action from end users.
The upgrade policy is created by the KiwiCloud team on the iMinKit platform and delivered to devices via the iMinKit polling mechanism. The polling mechanism exists only in firmware versions running Android 13 and above. The following criteria should be used by the customer on the device to verify that the upgrade policy has been successfully applied:
| Application | Verification Criteria |
|---|---|
| iMin APP Store | The iMin APP Store UI on the device changes from the legacy iMinKit-controlled interface to the new KiwiCloud platform-controlled interface. The version number of the iMin APP Store application on the device is 3.0.97 or higher. |
| Remote Assistance (upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance) | The version number of the Remote Assistance application on the device is 3.0.93 or higher. |
3.4.Phase 4 – Official Migration
Official Migration consists of two sequential components with different timeframes:
- iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade rollout to all devices — may take from a few days to a few months (1–2 months, depending on the number of devices) after the upgrade policy is extended, as devices receive the update progressively via the iMinKit polling mechanism (every 4 hours). The polling mechanism exists only in firmware versions running Android 13 and above. Some devices may not be online immediately, and the upgrade will be delivered when they next come online. If the upgrade progress is too slow, the customer may ask end users to restart their devices before starting business each day.
- Official Migration Auto-Task data synchronization — the Official Migration Auto-Task itself (synchronizing all data and configurations from iMinKit to the KiwiCloud platform) typically completes within a few minutes, depending on data volume.
The upgrade is mandatory and silent: it is delivered to devices automatically through the upgrade policy and requires no action from end users.
Before performing the Official Migration Auto-Task, the KiwiCloud team waits until a meaningful portion of devices (e.g., around 60%, varying per customer) have successfully upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance. This serves as a smoke test confirming the upgrade policy itself has been correctly deployed — any remaining devices that have not upgraded can then be reasonably attributed to being offline rather than to a policy deployment failure. Once this threshold is reached, the device-level upgrade rollout and the Official Migration Auto-Task data synchronization proceed in parallel; the KiwiCloud team does not wait for 100% of devices to complete the upgrade.
| # | Task | KiwiCloud | Customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4.1 | KiwiCloud team extends the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade policy under the customer’s iMinKit Official Account to all devices.System process | ✓ | |
| 4.2 | KiwiCloud team monitors upgrade progress and waits until a meaningful portion of devices have successfully upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance, confirming the upgrade policy is working as expected. A meaningful portion is needed because a device whose Remote Assistance has not been upgraded cannot obtain the AnyDesk remote access ID after migration, and AnyDesk would then be unavailable on it. If the customer’s business has low dependence on remote assistance, or the customer already uses a third-party remote assistance tool, the migration can proceed immediately without waiting for the Remote Assistance upgrade. | ✓ | |
| 4.3 | KiwiCloud team executes the Official Migration Auto-Task on the customer’s iMinKit Official Account, synchronizing and converting all device data, grouping configurations, policies, and the full iMinKit Sub-account structure to the KiwiCloud platform; the iMinKit Official Account permanently becomes a KiwiCloud Migrated Account. | ✓ | |
| 4.4 | Customer logs in to the KiwiCloud platform using their iMinKit Official Account credentials to verify data synchronization and business continuity (testing business applications and processes to confirm normal operation). | ✓ | |
| 4.5 | Customer’s Super Admin assigns roles and access permissions to other migrated accounts on the KiwiCloud platform. See Appendix 1 (Post-Migration Authorization Model) for details. User Accounts created on iMinKit before migration are migrated by the Migration Auto-Task, but cannot log in to KiwiCloud until the Super Admin authorizes them; User Accounts created on iMinKit after migration are not synchronized, so create User Accounts directly on the KiwiCloud platform (see Appendix 8 – Section 3). The customer’s system administrator also unblocks policy push for devices on the KiwiCloud platform — see Unblocking Policy Push below. | ✓ |
The “Device Management → Device List” on the KiwiCloud platform contains only devices that have been enrolled and brought under management. After migration, devices appear as follows:
- IMA devices (Android OS 13 or below) that were activated before migration appear in “Device Management → Device List”.
- IMA devices (Android OS 13 or below) that were not activated before migration appear in “Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate”.
- IMA devices (Android OS 13 or below) newly activated after migration appear in “Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled”. The customer can enroll such a device through IMA Zero-Touch enrollment; if the device is also GMS-certified, it can alternatively be enrolled through GMA QR Enrollment or GMA Zero-Touch Enrollment.
- Devices running Android OS 14 and above for which no enrollment method that includes the device SN (for example, GMA QR Enrollment or KMA Zero-Touch Enrollment) has been configured on the KiwiCloud platform appear in “Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate”.
- Devices running Android OS 14 and above for which an enrollment method that includes the device SN (for example, GMA QR Enrollment or KMA Zero-Touch Enrollment) has been configured on the KiwiCloud platform appear in “Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled”.
Unblocking Policy Push (Task 4.5)
After the iMin APP Store upgrade is complete and before the migration is performed, IMA devices record a snapshot of their current configuration and application versions through the upgraded iMin APP Store.
After the account has been migrated, KiwiCloud does not send any policies to devices that remain in the blocked state. This is a protective mechanism: it ensures that the configuration of devices in live operation does not change until the customer is ready.
When policy management needs to be resumed, the customer’s system administrator unblocks the devices on the KiwiCloud platform. Once unblocked, KiwiCloud begins sending the application upgrade policy to these devices in the normal way.
There are two ways to unblock:
- Unblock all — unblock the devices in bulk under the account, so that the whole device fleet returns to regular policy management.
- Unblock partially — unblock only the devices the customer selects. This suits scenarios where the customer wants to verify the migration result on a small scale first — for example, to confirm that new policies are delivered normally before confirming migration for all devices.
Migration Auto-Tasks
Two distinct automated migration functions are used across the migration phases, both executed on the iMinKit platform by the KiwiCloud team:
- Test Migration Auto-Task — executed by the KiwiCloud team during Phase 3 (Test Migration) on the customer’s iMinKit Official Account via the iMinKit platform, covering test devices only. The purpose is to verify platform connectivity, device behavior, and business continuity on a limited scope before committing to full migration. As part of the Test Migration Auto-Task, the KiwiCloud system automatically adds AnyDesk and its AD1 plugin (installation) on the KiwiCloud platform via API connection between the iMinKit system and the KiwiCloud UEM platform, so that the iMin APP Store, Remote Assistance, AnyDesk and AD1 end up together in a single KiwiCloud app release policy. The Test Migration Auto-Task can be rolled back.
- Official Migration Auto-Task — executed by the KiwiCloud team during Phase 4 (Official Migration) on the customer’s iMinKit Official Account via the iMinKit platform, covering all devices. This is the definitive migration action. As part of the Official Migration Auto-Task, the KiwiCloud system automatically adds AnyDesk and its AD1 plugin (installation) on the KiwiCloud platform via API connection between the iMinKit system and the KiwiCloud platform, so that the iMin APP Store, Remote Assistance, AnyDesk and AD1 end up together in a single KiwiCloud app release policy. Prior to performing the Official Migration Auto-Task, the KiwiCloud team will roll back the Test Migration Auto-Task to ensure a clean and conflict-free starting state.
Rollback
The KiwiCloud team executes rollback as a remediation operation when needed (e.g., wide-range business disruption observed post-migration, or incorrect upgrade versions deployed). The rollback may include one or more of the following components, scoped to the specific issue encountered:
- KiwiCloud environment cleanup — deleting all data and configurations from the relevant KiwiCloud environment (the trial environment under the KiwiCloud Trial Account, the test environment created by Test Migration Auto-Task, or the official environment created by Official Migration Auto-Task), depending on which environment requires rollback.
- iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance policy redeployment — deploying corrected upgrade or installation policies on the iMinKit platform if incorrect application versions were deployed to test devices or all devices.
- iMinKit data and configuration restoration — restoring iMinKit’s legacy data or configurations if these were altered by system error or human operation during Test Migration and/or Official Migration.
- 未在迁移前激活的 IMA 设备(Android 13 及以下),将出现在“入网(Enrollment)→ 设备状态(Device Status)→ 待管理(To Be Managed) → Candidate”列表。
- 迁移后新激活的 IMA 设备(Android 13 及以下),将出现在“入网(Enrollment)→ 设备状态(Device Status)→ 待管理(To Be Managed) → Unenrolled”列表。
3.5.Phase 5 – Acceptance
This phase is intended for customers to monitor device availability and business continuity following the official migration. It is advised not to make any new configuration changes (e.g., device regrouping or policy updates) during this period. The recommended duration for this phase is at least one week.
| # | Task | KiwiCloud | Customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5.1 | Customer observes and tracks device availability and business continuity. New configurations (e.g., re-grouping devices, setting new policies) are not recommended during this phase. | ✓ | |
| 5.2 | If widespread business disruption is observed, customer triggers a rollback decision and notifies the KiwiCloud team. | ✓ | |
| 5.3 | KiwiCloud team rolls back the official migration, if needed. | ✓ |
If a rollback is triggered during Phase 5, configurations created on the KiwiCloud platform during the acceptance period will not be preserved, as the KiwiCloud platform supports many functions that iMinKit does not. This is why new configurations (e.g., re-grouping devices, setting new policies) are not recommended during this phase.
4.Key Requirements

About This Document
This Appendix is a companion document to the KiwiCloud Migration Playbook. It defines all account types and terminology frameworks referenced throughout the migration documentation and describes the post-migration authorization model. It is distributed to customers together with the Migration Playbook and related materials.
Overview
This Appendix defines all account types and terminology frameworks referenced in the KiwiCloud Migration documentation. Understanding the distinctions between these account types is important for correctly interpreting the migration process, platform accessibility, and account management actions described throughout the Migration Playbook and related documents.
Account terminology in the context of iMinKit and KiwiCloud migration is organized into three terminology frameworks, each serving a different purpose:
- By Hierarchy (Section 1) – describes the multi-level parent–child relationship between accounts (Main Account / Sub-account).
- By Platform (Section 2) – describes an account’s accessibility to and functionality on the iMinKit and/or KiwiCloud platform.
- By Authorization (Section 3) – describes the roles, access rights, and operational scopes of accounts and users.
The same physical account may be described using different terminologies depending on which framework is being applied; such cross-connections are noted within the relevant account definitions. Section 4 describes the post-migration authorization model.
1.By Hierarchy
This terminology framework focuses on explaining the multi-level hierarchical relationship between accounts. Both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform support a 5-level account structure. Each platform has its own internal root node — iMin Tech on the iMinKit platform, and KiwiCloud on the KiwiCloud platform — at the top of its hierarchy. These root nodes exist as a technical requirement (every hierarchy must have a root) and are not visible in the customer-facing interface; customers interact with the hierarchy starting from the Main Account level downward.
A Main Account is the email and password used when creating a level-1 organization under the root organization node. A Sub-account is the email and password used when creating a sub-organization under a non-root organization node: level-2 under level-1, level-3 under level-2, and so on until level-5 under level-4.
Every Main Account and Sub-account is, by definition, the Super Admin of the organization it was used to create (see Section 3). User Accounts — accounts that a Super Admin creates and assigns roles to — are not Sub-accounts, and this document no longer describes them as such, to avoid confusion.
These terminologies, Main Account and Sub-account, were widely used in emails, instant messages, and verbal communications before KiwiCloud platform and migration activities were formally introduced to customers and iMin Tech. To avoid ambiguity, it is recommended to prefix such terms with the platform name, as defined below.
1.1. iMinKit Main Account
The email and password used when creating a level-1 organization under the root organization node of the iMinKit platform (iMin Tech). The iMinKit Main Account is the foundational account from which the customer’s iMinKit account hierarchy branches and is the parent of all iMinKit Sub-accounts below it. It is the Super Admin of that level-1 organization and, when created together with the level-1 organization, is always granted Super Admin (Cooperative) authorization by default.
In most contexts the iMinKit Main Account is the same account as the customer’s iMinKit Official Account (see Section 2).
1.2. KiwiCloud Main Account
The email and password used when creating a level-1 organization under the root organization node of the KiwiCloud platform (KiwiCloud). The KiwiCloud Main Account is the foundational account from which the customer’s KiwiCloud account hierarchy branches and is the parent of all KiwiCloud Sub-accounts below it. It is the Super Admin of that level-1 organization. After official migration, a customer’s KiwiCloud Main Account is the same account as their KiwiCloud Migrated Account (see Section 2), inheriting the same email credentials and the same level-1 position previously held by the iMinKit Main Account.
1.3. iMinKit Sub-account
The email and password used when creating a sub-organization (level-2 through level-5) under a non-root organization node on the iMinKit platform. An iMinKit Sub-account is the Super Admin of the sub-organization it was used to create. iMinKit Sub-accounts are typically created for the customer’s partners or sub-organizations and are used primarily for device ownership management operations such as device transfer and allocation between the customer and their partners.
The iMinKit Sub-accounts created together with level-2 through level-5 organization are granted Super Admin (Cooperative) or Super Admin (Controllable) authorization by the Super Admin who holds the iMinKit Main Account.
All iMinKit Sub-accounts are migrated together with the iMinKit Main Account during the Official Migration Auto-Task, ensuring that the entire account structure and organizational hierarchy is fully transitioned from iMinKit to the KiwiCloud platform.
After migration, an iMinKit Sub-account (Cooperative or Controllable sub-type) is automatically synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform as a KiwiCloud Sub-account — the KiwiCloud Super Admin of the corresponding sub-organization. iMinKit User Accounts within the sub-organization are not Sub-accounts; they are also synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform as physical account entities, but without any roles or access permissions — the corresponding KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions to these accounts on the KiwiCloud platform before they can access it. Refer to Section 4 — Post-Migration Authorization Model for details.
1.4. KiwiCloud Sub-account
The email and password used when creating a sub-organization (level-2 through level-5) under a non-root organization node on the KiwiCloud platform. A KiwiCloud Sub-account is the Super Admin of the sub-organization it was used to create. KiwiCloud Sub-accounts may originate in three ways:
- Migrated from iMinKit at official migration — every iMinKit Sub-account becomes a KiwiCloud Sub-account at the corresponding level after the Official Migration Auto-Task, preserving the customer’s existing organizational hierarchy.
- Created on iMinKit post-migration — after official migration, a newly created iMinKit Sub-account is automatically synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform as a corresponding KiwiCloud Sub-account. The customer’s iMinKit hierarchy and KiwiCloud hierarchy therefore remain continuously synchronized for newly created iMinKit Sub-accounts. Customers are recommended to continue managing organization structure and associated Super Admin accounts on the iMinKit platform after official migration.
- Created directly on the KiwiCloud platform — under a KiwiCloud Main Account, KiwiCloud Trial Account, or KiwiCloud Bridging Account, to support multi-user or multi-organizational structures on the KiwiCloud platform. KiwiCloud Sub-accounts created directly on the KiwiCloud platform are not synchronized back to the iMinKit platform.
2.By Platform
This terminology framework focuses on explaining an account’s accessibility to and functionality on the iMinKit and/or KiwiCloud platform. The account types defined in this framework are:
2.1. iMinKit Official Account
The account that the customer currently uses to log in to the iMinKit platform. This account is registered with the customer’s official business email address and is the primary account governing all device ownership, allocation, and management operations on iMinKit. It is accessible to the iMinKit platform only prior to migration.
Upon successful Test Migration Auto-Task (Phase 3) or Official Migration Auto-Task (Phase 4), the iMinKit Official Account becomes a KiwiCloud Migrated Account (see below), accessible to both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform using the same email credentials.
An iMinKit Sub-account from the customer’s perspective may simultaneously be an iMinKit Official Account from the partner’s or sub-organization’s perspective — i.e., the same physical account holds different terminology labels depending on whose hierarchy is being described. After official migration, that same account functions as the partner’s KiwiCloud official account on the KiwiCloud platform.
2.2. KiwiCloud Migrated Account
The official KiwiCloud account resulting from a successful Test Migration Auto-Task or Official Migration Auto-Task. It is accessible to both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform using the same email credentials as the customer’s iMinKit Official Account.
- During Phase 3 (Test Migration): The iMinKit Official Account is temporarily converted into a KiwiCloud Migrated Account via the Test Migration Auto-Task, allowing the customer to log in to the KiwiCloud platform and verify platform connectivity, device behavior, and business continuity on test devices. This is a temporary state — the Test Migration Auto-Task will be rolled back by the KiwiCloud team at the start of Phase 4 before the Official Migration Auto-Task is performed.
- After Phase 4 (Official Migration): The iMinKit Official Account is permanently converted into a KiwiCloud Migrated Account via the Official Migration Auto-Task. This is the definitive and final state. All iMinKit Sub-accounts are migrated at the same time, preserving the full organizational hierarchy on the KiwiCloud platform.
After a successful Official Migration Auto-Task, the KiwiCloud platform account password may be changed independently by the customer and may differ from the iMinKit platform password.
2.3. KiwiCloud Trial Account
An account provisioned by the KiwiCloud team for a customer to allow early exploration of the KiwiCloud platform. The KiwiCloud Trial Account is registered with a different email address from the customer’s iMinKit Official Account (if any), as the provisioning process creates a trial-purpose account on the iMinKit platform under this email and any conflict with an existing iMinKit Official Account would prevent the provisioning from completing successfully.
The KiwiCloud Trial Account is provisioned (with 60-day KC Enhanced license) by the KiwiCloud team by creating a trial-purpose account on the iMinKit platform and running an Official Migration Auto-Task on it. This trial-purpose iMinKit-side account is not equivalent to a customer’s iMinKit Official Account; its sole role is to initiate the iMinKit-to-KiwiCloud synchronization mechanism so the customer can authentically experience how iMinKit organization structure synchronizes to the KiwiCloud platform.
The KiwiCloud Trial Account is accessible to both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform using the same email credentials.
The KiwiCloud Trial Account must not share the same email address as any existing account on either iMinKit or KiwiCloud platform, as this would cause a conflict during the trial account provisioning flow and during any subsequent Test Migration Auto-Task or Official Migration Auto-Task processes. For customers transitioning toward official migration, the KiwiCloud team will delete the KiwiCloud Trial Account and all associated sub-accounts under the KiwiCloud Trial Account during the migration processes.
2.4. KiwiCloud Standalone Account
An account on the KiwiCloud platform that was created independently of any migration operation, before the customer’s iMinKit Official Account had been migrated to the KiwiCloud platform. KiwiCloud Standalone Accounts were created by the KiwiCloud team for certain customers during March and April 2026 as an early access arrangement. From May 2026 onwards, KiwiCloud Standalone Accounts are no longer created for existing iMinKit customers, as this account type caused confusion by operating separately from the iMinKit platform without a clear migration pathway.
KiwiCloud Standalone Accounts fall into two patterns based on email registration:
- Most KiwiCloud Standalone Accounts share the same email address as the customer’s iMinKit Official Account. Such accounts are accessible to both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform using the shared email address — but no migration operation has been performed, so the two platforms operate independently for this account.
- A few KiwiCloud Standalone Accounts were registered with a different email address from the customer’s iMinKit Official Account. Such accounts are accessible to the KiwiCloud platform only and cannot log in to the iMinKit platform.
Because a KiwiCloud Standalone Account is created without a migration operation, none of the customer’s iMinKit organization structure is synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform — even when the Standalone Account shares the same email address as the customer’s iMinKit Official Account. The iMinKit Main Account, iMinKit Sub-accounts, organizational hierarchy, Super Admin roles, and other iMinKit data remain on the iMinKit platform and do not appear under the KiwiCloud Standalone Account. The KiwiCloud Standalone Account begins as an empty workspace on the KiwiCloud platform.
2.5. KiwiCloud Bridging Account
A transitional KiwiCloud Migrated Account created by the KiwiCloud team for customers who have purchased iMin Devices running Android OS 14 and above (eligible for KMA mode, and for GMA mode if GMS-certified), which no longer support IMA mode, and need to begin managing these devices on the KiwiCloud platform before their iMinKit Official Account has been officially migrated.
The KiwiCloud Bridging Account is registered with a different email address from the customer’s iMinKit Official Account, and is accessible to both the iMinKit platform and the KiwiCloud platform. Since neither KMA nor GMA mode is supported by the iMinKit platform, the KiwiCloud platform is the only management platform for such devices, making this bridging account a necessary transitional solution.
The KiwiCloud Bridging Account is a temporary arrangement. Once the customer’s iMinKit Official Account has been officially migrated and becomes a KiwiCloud Migrated Account, the KiwiCloud Bridging Account should be consolidated accordingly.
3.By Authorization
This terminology framework focuses on authorizations and permissions on the iMinKit and KiwiCloud platforms. These terminologies are used to describe the roles, access rights, and operational scopes of accounts and users on both platforms.
There are two role tiers in this framework:
- Tier 1 – Super Admin (Super Administrator): the foundational role of an organization. Created automatically when an organization (for a customer) or a sub-organization (for a partner or subsidiary of the customer) is created on the iMinKit or KiwiCloud platform; the Main Account or Sub-account used to create the organization is its Super Admin. A Super Admin holds full management permission over its own organization and any sub-organizations beneath it, including the ability to create User Accounts and assign roles to them.
- Tier 2 – User Accounts: non-Super-Admin accounts (iMinKit User Accounts or KiwiCloud User Accounts) created by a Super Admin and assigned specific roles such as Ordinary Admin, scoped to the organization or sub-organization in which they were created. User Accounts are not Sub-accounts.
There are four Super Admin accounts that differ by sub-type (Cooperative or Controllable/Controlled), which determines APP-publishing rights. Cooperative Super Admins have permission to publish business applications for their organization and sub-organizations through APP policy configuration; Controllable/Controlled Super Admins do not. APP publishing functions reside on the iMinKit platform before migration and are migrated to the KiwiCloud platform during official migration; the publishing permission follows the same path. The Main Account created directly under each platform’s root node is automatically granted the Cooperative sub-type. For sub-organizations, the sub-type is chosen by the higher-level Super Admin who creates them — see the typical scenarios below.
3.1. iMinKit Super Admin (Cooperative)
A Super Admin on the iMinKit platform holding the Cooperative sub-type. Has APP-publishing permission for its organization and sub-organizations. Synonymous with iMinKit Cooperative Account.
3.2. iMinKit Super Admin (Controllable)
A Super Admin on the iMinKit platform holding the Controllable sub-type. Does not have APP-publishing permission; APP publishing must be governed by a higher-level iMinKit Super Admin (Cooperative). Synonymous with iMinKit Controllable Account.
3.3. KiwiCloud Super Admin (Cooperative)
A Super Admin on the KiwiCloud platform holding the Cooperative sub-type. Has APP-publishing permission for its organization and sub-organizations. Synonymous with KiwiCloud Cooperative Account.
3.4. KiwiCloud Super Admin (Controlled)
A Super Admin on the KiwiCloud platform holding the Controlled sub-type. Does not have APP-publishing permission; APP publishing must be governed by a higher-level KiwiCloud Super Admin (Cooperative). Synonymous with KiwiCloud Controlled Account. Note: KiwiCloud uses Controlled where iMinKit uses Controllable.
3.5. iMinKit User Account
A non-Super-Admin account on the iMinKit platform, created and assigned with specific role (e.g. an Ordinary Admin) by a Super Admin. Used for delegated operational tasks within the organization.
3.6. KiwiCloud User Account
A non-Super-Admin account on the KiwiCloud platform, created and assigned with specific role (e.g. an Ordinary Admin) by a Super Admin. KiwiCloud User Accounts enable multiple users to jointly manage devices, policies, and configurations on the KiwiCloud platform, with access controlled through the roles assigned by the Super Admin.
3.7. Typical Scenarios
The following two scenarios illustrate how the Super Admin sub-types are typically applied in real-world customer deployments:
The customer is a group enterprise with unified APP management policies and does not allow its subsidiaries to publish business applications independently. The iMinKit Main Account created from the headquarters of the group enterprise is a Super Admin (Cooperative) by default. When the headquarters creates subsidiary organizations on iMinKit, the Super Admin of each subsidiary is set as Super Admin (Controllable) meaning the subsidiary cannot publish business applications, and APP publishing remains centralized at the headquarters level.
The customer is a distributor of iMin Devices, responsible only for selling and delivering iMin Devices to its partners and does not have the eligibility or right to manage APP publishing on behalf of its partners. The iMinKit Main Account created from the distributor is a Super Admin (Cooperative) by default. When the distributor creates a partner’s organization on iMinKit, the Super Admin of each partner’s organization is set as Super Admin (Cooperative) meaning each partner can independently publish business applications for its own organization and sub-organizations.
3.8. Synchronization Behavior Between Platforms
Super Admins (Main Account and Sub-accounts) and User Accounts (iMinKit User Accounts and KiwiCloud User Accounts) follow different synchronization rules between the iMinKit and KiwiCloud platforms:
- Super Admin – synchronized in both migration phases. A Super Admin (and its sub-type – Cooperative or Controllable/Controlled) is synchronized from the iMinKit platform to the KiwiCloud platform during both official migration and post-migration (when a new sub-organization with a Super Admin is created on iMinKit after official migration).
- User Accounts – authorization not synchronized. iMinKit User Accounts (e.g., Ordinary Admins) are synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform as physical account entities during official migration, but without any roles or access permissions – the KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions to these accounts on the KiwiCloud platform before they can access it. In the reverse direction, KiwiCloud User Accounts created directly on the KiwiCloud platform are not synchronized to the iMinKit platform – if equivalent roles are needed on iMinKit, the iMinKit Super Admin must create them locally. User Accounts created on iMinKit after official migration are not synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform. After migration, we therefore recommend creating User Accounts directly on the KiwiCloud platform (see Appendix 8 – Section 3).
- Asymmetric Super Admin relationship: An iMinKit Super Admin is always a KiwiCloud Super Admin (because Super Admins synchronize from iMinKit to KiwiCloud). However, a KiwiCloud Super Admin is not necessarily an iMinKit Super Admin — if the KiwiCloud Super Admin was created along with an organization or sub-organization directly and independently on the KiwiCloud platform, it has no corresponding iMinKit Super Admin and will not be synchronized back to iMinKit.
For these reasons, customers are recommended to manage organization structure and associated Super Admin accounts on the iMinKit platform after official migration.
4.Post-Migration Authorization Model
After official migration, access to the KiwiCloud platform is governed by Super Admin synchronization from the iMinKit platform: every Super Admin on iMinKit is automatically synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform as a KiwiCloud Super Admin, with the same email credentials and the same APP-publishing sub-type (Cooperative or Controllable / Controlled). iMinKit User Accounts (e.g., Ordinary Admins) are also synchronized as physical account entities, but without any roles or access permissions — the corresponding KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions to these accounts on the KiwiCloud platform before they can access it. User Accounts created on iMinKit after official migration are not synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform. After migration, we therefore recommend creating User Accounts directly on the KiwiCloud platform (see Appendix 8 – Section 3).
The following table summarizes how each iMinKit account type is treated on the KiwiCloud platform after migration. For the purposes of this section:
- Entity A refers to the customer’s top-level organization on iMinKit (whose Main Account is a level-1 iMinKit Official Account, held by an iMinKit Super Admin).
- Entity B refers to a partner or sub-organization of Entity A on iMinKit (whose account is a level-2 iMinKit Sub-account of Entity A, but functions as an iMinKit Official Account for Entity B itself, held by an iMinKit Super Admin for Entity B’s scope).
| # | iMinKit Account | Role on iMinKit | KiwiCloud Platform Access After Migration |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Main Account for Entity A (level-1 iMinKit Official Account) | iMinKit Super Admin for Entity A | Automatically synchronized as KiwiCloud Super Admin for Entity A, with permission to access all organizations built under Entity A. The Cooperative or Controllable sub-type is preserved as Cooperative or Controlled respectively on the KiwiCloud platform |
| 2 | iMinKit User Account within Entity A (e.g., an Ordinary Admin) | iMinKit User Account holding an Ordinary Admin or other role on iMinKit | Physical account synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform, but without any roles or access permissions. Entity A’s KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions before the account can access the KiwiCloud platform |
| 3 | Sub-account for Entity B (level-2 iMinKit Sub-account of Entity A, but iMinKit Official Account for Entity B) | iMinKit Super Admin for Entity B | Automatically synchronized as KiwiCloud Super Admin for Entity B, with permission to access all organizations built under Entity B. The Cooperative or Controllable sub-type is preserved as Cooperative or Controlled respectively on the KiwiCloud platform |
| 4 | iMinKit User Account within Entity B (e.g., an Ordinary Admin) | iMinKit User Account holding an Ordinary Admin or other role on iMinKit | Physical account synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform, but without any roles or access permissions. Entity A’s or Entity B’s KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions before the account can access the KiwiCloud platform |

Appendix 3 – Risk Register
About This Document
This Appendix is a companion document to the KiwiCloud Migration Playbook. It catalogues the risks identified for the iMinKit-to-KiwiCloud migration, along with their probability, impact, residual level, and the mitigation or contingency measures planned by the KiwiCloud team. It is distributed to customers together with the Migration Playbook and related materials.
| ID | Risk | Probability | Impact | Level | Mitigation / Contingency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RK-01 | Temporary blank management interfaces during migration | Low | Low | Low | KiwiCloud team issues advance notifications; end-user device applications remain fully functional throughout |
| RK-02 | Extended synchronization time for large data volumes | Low | Low | Low | KiwiCloud team schedules migration during off-peak hours and monitors progress in real time; Official Migration Auto-Task typically completes within a few minutes |
| RK-03 | Devices temporarily offline during the migration window | Medium | Low | Low | KiwiCloud team notifies customer to maintain device connectivity; KiwiCloud UEM platform shadow device mechanism retains and auto-executes commands when devices come back online |
| RK-04 | Discrepancies in migrated data | Low | Medium | Low | KiwiCloud team uses automated intelligent validation tools and maintains real-time monitoring throughout migration; any discrepancies surfaced are addressed before phase sign-off |
| RK-05 | Post-migration policy or group assignment not applied as expected | Low | Medium | Low | KiwiCloud team verifies Enrollment Config references the correct associated group; checks for conflicting policies; reviews deployment status in admin console on KiwiCloud platform |
| RK-06 | Devices receive the Remote Assistance upgrade later than expected (e.g., powered off during Phase 3 or Phase 4) | Low | Low | Low | Remote Assistance upgrade policy remains active on the iMinKit platform after Phase 4 and continues to deliver the upgrade to any device that comes back online via the iMinKit polling mechanism (every 4 hours); the KiwiCloud team monitors upgrade status and follows up with the customer on any remaining devices |
| RK-07 | Official Migration Auto-Task triggered before the upgrade policy is verified to be working, resulting in migration of devices that have not yet received KiwiCloud Remote Assistance | Low | Medium | Low | KiwiCloud team monitors upgrade progress on the iMinKit platform and waits until a meaningful portion of devices (e.g., around 60%, varying per customer) have successfully upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance before performing the Official Migration Auto-Task; this serves as a smoke test confirming the upgrade policy itself has been correctly deployed |
| RK-08 | Unexpected business disruption observed post-migration | Low | High | High | Customer triggers rollback decision and notifies the KiwiCloud team; KiwiCloud team performs technical rollback on KiwiCloud platform and iMinKit platform; rollback criteria to be discussed and agreed with each customer on a case-by-case basis |
| RK-09 | Limited device connectivity due to firewall restrictions blocking KiwiCloud platform domains and ports | Low | Low | Low | Phase 2 verification includes customer whitelisting KiwiCloud platform domains and ports in their network/firewall configuration (see Migration Readiness Checklist and Migration Appendix 2); for customers with devices deployed across multiple regions or countries, consistent whitelisting across all sites within the preparation window may not be practically achievable; affected devices retain connectivity to iMinKit and continue normal operations until connectivity is resolved; customers are advised to progressively resolve firewall whitelisting site-by-site post-migration |
| RK-10 | iMin APP Store or Remote Assistance blacklisted on iMinKit platform by customer, preventing the upgrade policy from being applied | Low | Medium | Low | The Readiness Check run when the migration application is submitted verifies that neither iMin APP Store nor Remote Assistance is blacklisted on the iMinKit platform; early applicants, whose applications were submitted before the check was introduced, re-submit the application in Phase 2 so that the check runs, and the customer removes any such blacklist entries on the iMinKit platform before proceeding; an early applicant who does not re-submit and whose applications are in fact blacklisted can still migrate and, after migration, delete the blacklist policy synchronized from iMinKit on the KiwiCloud platform (Configuration → App Push Restriction) so that the upgrade policy can be pushed to the devices — AnyDesk may then be temporarily unavailable until Remote Assistance is upgraded (see RK-13) |
| RK-11 | Email address conflict between KiwiCloud Trial Account (if it’s a KiwiCloud Standalone Account) and iMinKit Official Account during Official Migration Auto-Task | Low | Low | Low | KiwiCloud team deletes the KiwiCloud Trial Account and all sub-accounts under the KiwiCloud Trial Account from the KiwiCloud platform during Phase 2 (Preparation), before Test Migration or Official Migration begins. |
| RK-12 | New data and configurations created on the KiwiCloud platform during Phase 5 (Acceptance) are not preserved if a rollback is triggered, as KiwiCloud-side changes are not synchronized back to the iMinKit platform | Low | Medium | Low | Customer is advised during Phase 5 to avoid creating new configurations (e.g., re-grouping devices, setting new policies) on the KiwiCloud platform until acceptance is signed off; if rollback is subsequently triggered, any lost configurations can be re-created on the KiwiCloud platform once the underlying issue is resolved |
| RK-13 | AnyDesk is unavailable on devices whose Remote Assistance has not been upgraded before the Official Migration Auto-Task: after migration, such a device cannot obtain the AnyDesk remote access ID | Medium | Medium | Medium | KiwiCloud team waits until a meaningful portion of devices have upgraded to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance before performing the Official Migration Auto-Task (see RK-07), and the upgrade policy stays active after Phase 4 for devices that come online later (see RK-06); a customer whose business has low dependence on remote assistance, or who already uses a third-party remote assistance tool, may proceed with the migration immediately without waiting for the Remote Assistance upgrade |

About This Document
This Appendix is a companion document to the KiwiCloud Migration Playbook. It shows which functions are available on each iMin Device model after migration, depending on the firmware the device runs. Devices running the deeply customized firmware described in Section 2.2 are not covered.
- Devices running Android 13 firmware other than the deeply customized firmware: basically all of them support all iMinKit functions, and these functions are also available on KiwiCloud after migration.
- Devices running Android 11 firmware other than the deeply customized firmware, including models marked “No test data”: they support only part of the iMinKit functions. After migration, those functions are also supported on KiwiCloud; functions that iMinKit does not support on these devices cannot be supported on KiwiCloud either.
About “No test data”: for various reasons, these models could not be covered by the DCT. If you are not confident about the support these devices will get on KiwiCloud, you can transfer them to another account (as described in Section 2.2), so that they do not migrate together with the official account.

Appendix 7 – Migration Guidance for SoftPOS Customers附录 7 – SoftPOS 客户迁移指引
About This Document
This Appendix is a companion document to the KiwiCloud Migration Playbook. It provides migration guidance for customers who operate a SoftPOS (payment device) business. It is distributed to customers together with the Migration Playbook and related materials.
1. Who This Appendix Is For
This Appendix is for customers who operate a SoftPOS (payment device) business. For all other customers, the standard migration process in Section 3 of the Playbook applies.
2. Why These Customers Need a Different Approach
The devices of these customers must run in an environment that meets higher security standards. As a result, these customers generally do not allow application upgrades on their devices, and place the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance on the APP blacklist.
This matters for migration because the upgrade of these two applications is the mechanism by which the migration itself is enabled on devices, and blacklisting them prevents the upgrade policy from being applied (see Section 2.5).
3. What Will Be Needed After Migration
After migration, application upgrades need to be opened gradually — device by device, or batch by batch — rather than for all devices at once.
4. Current Status
KiwiCloud is currently developing and testing a migration method designed for this type of customer. This Appendix will be updated when the method is ready. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact your dedicated CSE.
本附录适用于拥有 SoftPOS(支付设备)业务的客户。
Appendix 8 – Post-Migration User Guide
About This Document
This Appendix is a companion document to the KiwiCloud Migration Playbook. After migration, the way devices are enrolled, apps are upgraded, user accounts are created and remote access works differs from iMinKit. This guide covers the four things customers ask about most after migration — where their devices are, how to release app upgrades, how to create user accounts, and how to use unattended remote access — each with step-by-step screenshots. It is distributed to customers together with the Migration Playbook and related materials. (Screenshots show the English interface of a demo account.)
1. Where Are My Devices?
If you cannot find a newly purchased device in Device Management → Device List, that is expected: new devices first appear in Enrollment → Device Status. A device is only brought under management once you have configured an enrollment method (Enrollment) and the device has been enrolled into KiwiCloud — the Device List contains only devices that have been enrolled and brought under management. After migration, devices appear as follows:
- IMA devices (Android OS 13 or below) activated before migration appear in Device Management → Device List.
- IMA devices not activated before migration appear in Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate.
- IMA devices newly activated after migration appear in Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled. Enroll them via IMA Zero-Touch; GMS-certified devices can alternatively use GMA QR Enrollment or GMA Zero-Touch Enrollment.
- Android OS 14+ devices for which no enrollment method that includes the device SN (e.g., GMA QR Enrollment or KMA Zero-Touch Enrollment) has been configured appear in Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate.
- Android OS 14+ devices for which such an enrollment method has been configured appear in Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled.
How to enroll your devices
Enrollment links a device to your KC account so you can see and manage it remotely. iMinKit didn’t need this step because it only worked on iMin Devices that were already linked at the factory. There are two ways to enroll a device: QR code or Zero-touch Enrollment (ZTE); this guide uses Zero-touch.
- Go to Enrollment > Zero-touch > KiwiCloud Zero-touch and choose Enrollment Configuration.
- Select the device SNs you want to enroll and click Submit.
- Ask store staff to restart each device.
- Check your devices under Enrollment > Device Status > Managed. All successfully enrolled devices are shown here.
2. How Do I Release an App Upgrade?
Good news: keep uploading and updating your APKs in iMinKit as usual. They sync to KiwiCloud automatically, and you release them from the KiwiCloud console, with an app upgrade policy:
- Upload the new version in iMinKit. Go to iMin Store > My Apps and click Add app to upload the new version of your APK.
iMinKit: iMin Store > My Apps > Add app. (Screenshot shows the English interface.) - Find your uploaded APK in App Management > My App in KiwiCloud. It is synchronized automatically.
- Go to App Management > App Release Policy, click Create App Policy and choose KC App Policy.
- Choose the app and its latest version, then click Next Step.
- Apply it to a device group (e.g. “test”) or a specific device, and click Submit.
Apps no longer need to be uploaded in iMinKit’s My Apps. You will be able to upload them directly in KiwiCloud’s My App.
3. How Do I Create User Accounts?
Give each team member their own login instead of sharing a single account. First, it helps to know how user accounts are synchronized between iMinKit and KiwiCloud:
| Account | Synchronization |
|---|---|
| Super Admin accounts (Main Account and Sub-accounts) | Synchronized together with their sub-type (Cooperative or Controllable/Controlled) — at official migration by the Migration Auto-Task, and afterwards for newly created ones. Each is the Super Admin of its organization on KiwiCloud. |
| User accounts created on iMinKit before migration | Migrated to KiwiCloud by the Migration Auto-Task as physical accounts, without roles or access permissions. They cannot log in to KiwiCloud until a Super Admin assigns them a role and access permissions. |
| User accounts created on iMinKit after migration | Not synchronized to KiwiCloud. |
| User accounts created on KiwiCloud | Exist on KiwiCloud only; they are not synchronized back to iMinKit. |
We therefore recommend creating user accounts directly on KiwiCloud after migration, as follows. If a user account migrated from iMinKit cannot log in, ask a Super Admin to assign it a role and access permissions on KiwiCloud (see the FAQ and Appendix 1 – Post-Migration Authorization Model).
- Go to System Management > Organization Management > Role Management and click New Roles.
- Define the role’s permissions.
- Go to System Management > Organization Management > User Management and click Create Account to create a user account for each person.
- When creating the account, select the role you created, e.g. Admin (full access) or Operator (manage devices and apps access).
4. How Do I Use Unattended Remote Access?
- Before migration: the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance required the end user to enable the feature on the device.
- After migration: the remote assistance service has moved to AnyDesk. You set an unattended remote access password once in the KiwiCloud console, and every device added to the group gets the same setting automatically; administrators then connect with that password. End users do not need to do anything on the device.
- Why it changed: so that you have full control of your devices. Before migration, if an end user inadvertently stopped the unattended remote access function on the device, you could no longer access the device remotely with it.
Before you start
- The devices must be enrolled (see section 1).
- On the device: KMA devices come with AnyDesk preinstalled. IMA devices need AnyDesk and the latest Remote Assistance app installed.
- Check the AnyDesk ID: a device can only be accessed remotely if it shows an AnyDesk ID in Device Management > Device List.
- On your laptop: install AnyDesk.
Set up once (console)
- Go to Device Management > Device Policy, click Create Policy and choose KMA Policy.
- Scroll to the bottom, turn on Remote Assistance and set a password. Click Next Step.
- Deploy it to a device group (e.g. “test”) or a specific device.
Every time you connect
- Go to Device Management > Device List, find your device SN, open the Action tab and choose Remote Assistance.
- Enter the password. You’re now connected to the device remotely.
The password sent to the device expires after a while. Open the device details and click Sync Configuration to send it again.

Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate 中。
Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled 中。
Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate 中。
Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Unenrolled 中。
进入 iMin Store > My Apps,点击 Add app,上传您 APK 的新版本。
iMinKit:iMin Store > My Apps > Add app。
不再需要在 iMinKit 的 My Apps 中上传应用,可直接在 KiwiCloud 的 My App 中上传。
- 进入 System Management > Organization Management > Role Management,点击 New Roles。
- 创建账号时选择您创建的角色,例如 Admin(完全访问)或 Operator(管理设备和应用的权限)。

Answers to the questions customers ask most often about the iMinKit → KiwiCloud migration, grouped by topic. They are aligned with this Playbook and its Appendixes. For anything not covered here, contact your dedicated CSE (Customer Service Engineer) or contact@kiwi.cloud.
1. Migration Policy & Timeline
iMinKit’s device management module will remain operational until December 31, 2026, 23:59. After that, iMinKit will only retain basic capabilities such as device ownership, partner management, device allocation and after-sales operations. To continue using device management capabilities — including remote control, policy management, application management and remote assistance — you need to migrate to the KiwiCloud platform.
Submit your migration intent by completing the Migration Application Form on the iMinKit platform (see Appendix 5 – How to Apply for Migration). The entry point, “iMinKit Device Management Capabilities Are Migrating to KiwiCloud”, is displayed above the banner when you log in. Once it is received, the KiwiCloud team will reach out proactively to align on a migration schedule.
Please be patient after submitting your application — migration scheduling is not first-come, first-served (see Q4).
Migration starts with a pre-project engagement and then runs through five phases (see Section 3):
- Pre-Project Engagement — customer inquiries, an optional KiwiCloud Trial Account, and review of the Migration Playbook, Appendixes and this FAQ.
- Phase 1 – Application — the customer submits the Migration Application Form in iMinKit; the KiwiCloud team verifies that the Device Compatibility Test (DCT) covers the customer’s device models, Android OS versions and firmware versions.
- Phase 2 – Preparation — kick-off; the customer confirms the migration date, the regional service node and test devices, prepares the network (firewall and allow-list), makes sure the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance are not blacklisted, and submits the Migration Readiness Checklist.
- Phase 3 – Test Migration (optional) — the KiwiCloud team applies the upgrade policy to test devices only and runs a test migration; the customer verifies platform connectivity and business continuity; the test migration is then rolled back.
- Phase 4 – Official Migration — the upgrade policy is extended to all devices, then the KiwiCloud team runs the Official Migration Auto-Task; the customer verifies the result, assigns roles and unblocks policy push.
- Phase 5 – Acceptance — the customer observes device availability and business continuity for at least one week; a rollback can be requested if a large-scale anomaly occurs.
No. Migration is planned by the KiwiCloud team on a per-customer basis, taking into account factors such as region, device models and device quantity. The KiwiCloud team will reach out proactively to align on a migration schedule and will keep you informed ahead of any official migration action.
Yes. Migration is free of charge only for accounts that complete migration before December 31, 2026, 23:59. Accounts migrating after this deadline may incur additional license or migration costs. Early migration is strongly recommended.
No. End-user device operations — including POS transactions and business applications — continue to function normally throughout all phases of the migration. There is no interruption to device-side applications at any point. Some management interfaces may temporarily appear blank during the migration window, but this does not affect device operations.
The duration varies by customer — device quantity, region and operational readiness all play a role — and the schedule is planned per customer. By phase:
- Phase 1: depends on the progress of the Device Compatibility Test (DCT).
- Phase 2: depends on the customer’s internal IT workflow.
- Phase 3 (if performed): at least 1 week.
- Phase 4: the upgrade of the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance may take from a few days to a few months (1–2 months, depending on the number of devices), because devices receive it progressively; the Official Migration Auto-Task data synchronization itself typically completes within a few minutes.
- Phase 5: a recommended minimum of one week.
If the upgrade progress is too slow, you may ask end users to restart their devices before starting business each day. The KiwiCloud team will confirm a specific schedule with each customer in advance.
2. Who Needs to Migrate
No. Customers who need KiwiCloud for device and application management need to migrate — iMinKit’s device and application management capabilities will be taken over by KiwiCloud with significant improvements. Customers who, apart from device ownership management, are not using iMinKit to manage devices and applications (for example, customers who already manage GMS-certified devices with a third-party MDM system) do not need to migrate; if they need KiwiCloud in the future, they can still be migrated at that time. See Section 2.2.
No. A Sub-account cannot be migrated on its own — it is migrated together with its Main Account (see Appendix 1). If you hold a Sub-account and wish to migrate ahead of your Main Account, contact the Main Account holder (for example, a device distributor or reseller) and the CSE (Customer Service Engineer) team, so that your account is moved out of the original Main Account’s hierarchy and becomes a Main Account in its own right.
If you are unsure whether the account you hold is a Sub-account, ask your dedicated CSE, or the reseller authorized by iMin Tech (the party that helped you create the iMinKit account).
Create a new iMinKit account and transfer (Transfer) the out-of-scope devices — those running the deeply customized, non-GMS-certified firmware — to it. This new account does not apply for migration, while your original account — which keeps the in-scope devices — can apply for migration as usual. Transferring these devices does not trigger a factory reset on the devices.
No. After migration they still cannot be managed on the KiwiCloud platform, so they are not included in the scope of this migration project.
SoftPOS devices need a high-security operating environment, so these customers generally do not allow application upgrades and place the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance on the APP blacklist. After migration, application upgrades need to be opened gradually — device by device, or batch by batch. KiwiCloud is currently developing and testing a migration method for this type of customer; see Appendix 7, which will be updated when it is ready.
Migration is done per account: all devices under one iMinKit Official Account are migrated together, and migrating only some devices within the same account is not supported. If you need part of your fleet to stay on iMinKit — for example devices outside the migration scope alongside devices within it — see Q10. Devices that are still on iMinKit’s device management module after it is retired on December 31, 2026 are no longer guaranteed to be manageable.
Devices running Android 13 or below are managed in IMA mode. How much of the iMinKit functionality is available after migration depends on the firmware they run:
- Devices running Android 13 firmware other than the deeply customized firmware basically all support all iMinKit functions, and these functions are also available on KiwiCloud after migration.
- Devices running Android 11 firmware other than the deeply customized firmware (including models marked “No test data”) support only part of the iMinKit functions. After migration those functions are also supported on KiwiCloud, while functions that iMinKit does not support on these devices remain unsupported.
Appendix 6 – Device Model Compatibility shows, model by model and function by function, what KiwiCloud supports. Models marked “No test data” could not be covered by the Device Compatibility Test (DCT) for various reasons; if you are not confident about the support these devices will get on KiwiCloud, you can transfer them to another account (see Section 2.2) so that they do not migrate together with the official account.
For models running Android 11 or below, KMA and GMA enrollment methods are not available: KMA requires Android 14 or above, and iMin Tech has never released GMS-certified firmware for Android versions below 13, so GMA is not supported either.
3. License & Free Authorization
Devices paid for on or before 23:59, June 30, 2026 — including all legacy devices covered in this migration — receive a Free Lifetime iMin Essential License. It is tied to the physical device serial number (SN) until device retirement, transfers with the device upon ownership transfer, and cannot be reassigned to devices outside the stated scope. There is no charge for these devices.
By default, migrated devices are on the Free Lifetime iMin Essential License, which supports IMA (iMinKit Managed Access) and KMA (KiwiCloud Managed Access) modes. GMA (Google Managed Access) mode and the geolocation features (devices map and geofencing) require KC Enhanced. iMin Essential and KC Enhanced are priced separately, per device/year and per device/3-year — please contact your KiwiCloud Sales Representative for pricing.
A 60-day Complimentary iMin Essential License is automatically granted at the account migration date to IMA-eligible devices (iMin Android 13 and earlier) that were purchased after June 30, 2026 and that — before the iMinKit account is migrated — had already been activated and enrolled under iMinKit management through the IMA activation and enrollment mechanism. Devices purchased in the same window but not yet activated at that point do not receive it, and once the account has been migrated, no device remains eligible.
This complimentary license is a transitional grace period and is not tied to the device — it is not transferred with the device upon ownership transfer. After the 60 days, an iMin Essential or KC Enhanced license is required to keep managing the device (it is not automatically factory-reset). Please contact your KiwiCloud Sales Representative for pricing.
The Free Lifetime iMin Essential License is tied to the physical device SN until device retirement. It transfers with the device upon ownership transfer, but cannot be reassigned to devices outside the stated scope — it cannot be moved to a new device that was not part of the original migration.
- Free Lifetime iMin Essential: the flag is written into the device firmware at the factory. A device enrolled via IMA or KMA never draws from the iMin Essential or KC Enhanced quota — even if you have bought 1,000 KC Enhanced licenses. However, a Free-Lifetime-flagged device that enrolls via GMA consumes one KC Enhanced license, whether or not it was previously managed under iMinKit.
- 60-day Complimentary iMin Essential: the flag is granted in the KiwiCloud database when the account is migrated. While valid, it draws no IMA/KMA quota. Unenrolling, retiring or transferring the device to another customer clears the flag. After it expires, an iMin Essential or KC Enhanced license is needed to keep managing the device.
4. Scope & Process
The following will be migrated:
- The iMinKit Official Account and all associated iMinKit Sub-accounts (full organizational hierarchy). For accounts holding the Super Admin role (registered when an organization or sub-organization is created), both the physical account and its iMinKit-side authorization (Cooperative or Controllable sub-type) are synchronized to the KiwiCloud platform. For non-Super-Admin accounts (for example iMinKit User Accounts holding an Ordinary Admin role), only the physical account is synchronized.
- All enrolled devices
- Device grouping configurations and legacy policies
- Application libraries, publish policies, update policies and kiosk configurations
- Configuration data including compliance rules, boot animations, secondary screen ads, permission settings and scanner configurations
The following will not be migrated:
- All types of logs (system logs, operation logs, device logs)
- My Apps — remains available on iMinKit until December 31, 2026, 23:59; no longer available from 2027
- iMin APP Store management functions — no longer available on iMinKit from the point of official migration
- User authorization for non-Super-Admin accounts — the iMinKit-side roles and access permissions of iMinKit User Accounts are not synchronized. After migration, the KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign roles and access permissions to these accounts on the KiwiCloud platform before they can access it. See Appendix 1 – Post-Migration Authorization Model.
Yes. Existing device grouping configurations and APP policies are synchronized and converted into KiwiCloud platform-structured formats during the official migration. Device management, APP policies, remote assistance, scheduled tasks, notifications and user authorization are then delivered by the KiwiCloud UEM platform. For an overview of capability coverage before and after migration, see the capability coverage table in Section 2.1 of the Playbook.
No. Only iMinKit’s device management capability will be retired by December 31, 2026, 23:59. iMinKit itself continues to operate beyond 2026 for:
- Account management — company profile, partners, operators, support and ticket records
- Device ownership — device overview, transfer, allocation and gifting
My Apps on iMinKit is not migrated to KiwiCloud but remains available on iMinKit until December 31, 2026, 23:59; from 2027 it is no longer available. Other iMin APP Store management functions are no longer available on iMinKit from the point of official migration. APP policy configuration functions (such as the blacklist) are migrated to the KiwiCloud UEM platform together with the customer’s APP policies. We advise customers to familiarize themselves with the corresponding KiwiCloud capabilities during the pre-migration engagement.
The KiwiCloud platform’s shadow device mechanism retains management commands and executes them automatically when the device reconnects. Devices that are offline during the migration window are synchronized automatically when they come back online. We strongly recommend keeping all devices online and network-connected throughout the migration window.
- Test Migration (optional) — performed by the KiwiCloud team in Phase 3 on the customer’s iMinKit Official Account, covering test devices only. It temporarily converts the iMinKit Official Account into a KiwiCloud Migrated Account so you can verify platform connectivity and business continuity on test devices. It can be rolled back.
- Official Migration — performed in Phase 4, covering all devices. This is the definitive, permanent migration. Before it, the KiwiCloud team rolls back the test migration to ensure a clean starting state. The data synchronization itself typically completes within a few minutes.
Yes. Other than the addition of the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade policy — which is applied only to the test devices you have assigned and is the mechanism by which the test migration is enabled on them — the test migration does not alter the existing data and configurations in your iMinKit Official Account. You can keep using it for routine operations such as device list review, device allocation, gifting and ownership transfer, and account management. The test migration only temporarily makes the account accessible on KiwiCloud, and the KiwiCloud team can roll it back before the official migration.
KiwiCloud operates dedicated regional service nodes so that your device management data stays within its designated geographic region, supporting data residency requirements and local regulatory compliance. Available nodes: Europe — Frankfurt; Asia-Pacific — Singapore; USA — N. Virginia; China — Beijing. The appropriate node depends on your country/region of operation, and you confirm it with the KiwiCloud team in Phase 2. If you are unsure, ask your dedicated CSE.
No. All types of logs — system logs, operation logs and device logs — are not included in the migration and are not inherited by the KiwiCloud platform. Historical logs remain accessible on iMinKit for reference, and new logs are generated on KiwiCloud from the point of migration onwards.
Yes, during Phase 5 – Acceptance (a recommended minimum of one week). If wide-range business disruption is observed, the customer triggers a rollback decision and notifies the KiwiCloud team, which performs the technical rollback. The specific rollback criteria and scope are discussed and agreed with each customer in advance. Please note that configurations created on the KiwiCloud platform during the acceptance period are not preserved if a rollback is triggered, because KiwiCloud supports many functions that iMinKit does not — which is why new configurations are not recommended during this phase.
5. Accounts & Permissions
Yes, but only after your iMinKit Official Account has been migrated. Upon successful migration it becomes a KiwiCloud Migrated Account, accessible on both platforms with the same email address and password. A “Login to KiwiCloud” shortcut also appears in the upper-right corner of your iMinKit page (see Appendix 4).
At the point of migration, yes — both platforms share the same credentials. After a successful official migration, however, the KiwiCloud account password can be changed independently and may then differ from the iMinKit password. The two platforms have independent authentication systems; a password change on one does not sync to the other.
Yes. All iMinKit Sub-accounts (partner and sub-organization accounts) migrate together with the iMinKit Official Account during the official migration, preserving the full organizational hierarchy. After migration:
- Super Admins (the founding accounts of each organization and sub-organization, including yours and your partners’) are automatically synchronized as KiwiCloud Super Admins with the same email credentials and full management access to their organizational scope.
- Other iMinKit User Accounts (for example Ordinary Admins) are also synchronized as physical accounts, but their iMinKit roles and access permissions are not carried over. The corresponding KiwiCloud Super Admin must assign new roles and access permissions before these users can access KiwiCloud (see Appendix 1 – Post-Migration Authorization Model).
User accounts that were created on iMinKit before migration are migrated to KiwiCloud by the Migration Auto-Task, but they cannot log in to KiwiCloud until a Super Admin has authorized them (see Q34). User accounts created on iMinKit after migration are not synchronized to KiwiCloud. We therefore recommend that you create user accounts directly on the KiwiCloud platform after migration: define roles under System Management → Organization Management → Role Management, then create an account for each person under User Management → Create Account and select the role (step by step: Appendix 8 – Section 3).
This is expected: the two platforms have an asymmetric synchronization relationship.
- iMinKit → KiwiCloud: any sub-organization (and its Super Admin) created on iMinKit is synchronized to KiwiCloud automatically — during the official migration and afterwards, for newly created ones.
- KiwiCloud → iMinKit: sub-organizations created directly on KiwiCloud are not synchronized back. The platforms differ significantly in functionality (iMinKit focuses on device ownership; KiwiCloud is a full UEM platform with policy, role and management capabilities), so a one-way sync is the only practical model.
For this reason, we recommend maintaining the organizational structure — including sub-accounts that hold the Super Admin role — on iMinKit after migration. See Appendix 1.
The most common reason is that your account is an iMinKit User Account (for example an Ordinary Admin) rather than the Super Admin of your organization. Your physical account was synchronized during migration, but your iMinKit roles and access permissions were not carried over. To resolve this:
- Identify the KiwiCloud Super Admin of your organization or sub-organization (typically the holder of the email originally registered as your iMinKit Main Account, or the partner’s iMinKit Official Account).
- Ask the Super Admin to assign you a role with the appropriate access permissions on KiwiCloud.
- Once assigned, log in to KiwiCloud with your existing email and password.
If you are a Super Admin and still cannot log in, contact your dedicated CSE (Customer Service Engineer).
This is a known difference in profile structure. iMinKit stores identity as a single name field, while KiwiCloud uses two fields — First Name and Surname. When the account is synchronized, the whole iMinKit name goes into the KiwiCloud First Name field and Surname stays empty. It does not affect your access, role or device management functions, and you can edit your profile on KiwiCloud at any time to split the value.
This can happen in two ways:
- A KiwiCloud Standalone Account was created by the KiwiCloud team under your iMinKit Official Account email during the early-access period (March–April 2026). It was created independently of any migration, so the iMinKit-to-KiwiCloud synchronization has never run for it and none of your iMinKit organization structure exists under it. Because the official migration needs to create a KiwiCloud Migrated Account under that email, it would conflict.
- A KiwiCloud User Account was created under the same email as an iMinKit Sub-account (for example under another customer’s or partner’s KiwiCloud account). Since iMinKit Sub-accounts migrate with the Official Account and must stay accessible under the same email, this could also conflict.
In both cases, you must confirm to the KiwiCloud team that it may clear all existing data on the conflicting KiwiCloud account before migration can proceed. The Readiness Check flags email conflicts automatically; please contact your dedicated CSE to identify and resolve them before migration begins.
A KiwiCloud Trial Account is a separate account provisioned by the KiwiCloud team under a different email address from your iMinKit Official Account, with a complimentary 60-day KC Enhanced license so you can explore KiwiCloud before the official migration. It is not your official migrated account — the two are completely separate. The KiwiCloud team deletes the Trial Account in Phase 2 (task 2.5), before any test or official migration.
- Register an iMinKit account with a different email address from your iMinKit Official Account at kit.imin.sg/user/register. A different email is required to avoid conflict during provisioning.
- Tell your dedicated CSE the email you registered. The CSE then synchronizes the account to KiwiCloud and provisions the trial license.
For the provisioning flow and license variations (existing iMinKit customers vs. new customers), see Appendix 1.
Before migration, your iMinKit Official Account and KiwiCloud have independent authentication systems. The account becomes accessible on KiwiCloud only after the Test Migration Auto-Task (Phase 3) or the Official Migration Auto-Task (Phase 4) has been run by the KiwiCloud team. To let you familiarize yourself with KiwiCloud before that, the KiwiCloud team can provision a Trial Account under a different email, with the highest license tier (KC Enhanced) for 60 days.
A Trial Account is optional; you may simply wait until your Official Account is migrated. If one is provisioned, it is deleted in Phase 2 to prevent any conflict with the migration.
A KiwiCloud Standalone Account is a KiwiCloud account created independently of any migration operation, before the customer’s iMinKit Official Account was migrated. The KiwiCloud team provisioned them for certain customers in March–April 2026 as an early-access arrangement; none are created for existing iMinKit customers from May 2026 onwards. Most share the same email as the iMinKit Official Account (accessible on both platforms, but the platforms operate independently for the account); a few were registered under a different email (KiwiCloud only). In either case, no iMinKit organization structure exists under the Standalone Account — it starts as an empty workspace.
A Trial Account, by contrast, is provisioned under a different email and its provisioning flow triggers the iMinKit-to-KiwiCloud synchronization, so you can see how your iMinKit organization structure synchronizes.
- If the account is accessible on KiwiCloud only (its email cannot log in to iMinKit), it is a KiwiCloud Standalone Account.
- If it shares the same email as your iMinKit Official Account, log in to iMinKit with that email: if the iMinKit interface still shows full Device Management and iMin APP Store functions, it is a Standalone Account (no migration has limited the interface); if it shows limited functions (the device management module has been retired or restricted as a result of migration), it is not — it is most likely a KiwiCloud Migrated Account from a prior Auto-Task.
If you are unsure, contact your dedicated CSE.
Transitioning is recommended. A Standalone Account was created without a migration, so the iMinKit-to-KiwiCloud synchronization is never triggered for it and you cannot see how your organization structure synchronizes. A Trial Account provisions that mechanism and gives a clearer, supported path toward the Official Migration Auto-Task. The KiwiCloud team performs the transition in two steps: (1) it deletes the existing Standalone Account; (2) it registers a new Trial Account under a different email address that is not registered on either platform. Contact your dedicated CSE to start.
Only if you have purchased iMin Devices running Android OS 14 or above and need to start managing them before your iMinKit Official Account is officially migrated. These devices no longer support IMA mode, so they cannot be managed on iMinKit — KiwiCloud is the only platform that supports KMA and GMA modes — and they need KiwiCloud from day one.
The KiwiCloud team provisions a KiwiCloud Bridging Account during the pre-project engagement, under a different email from your iMinKit Official Account; it is accessible on both platforms. It is a transitional arrangement: once your Official Account is migrated, the Bridging Account is consolidated accordingly. Customers without such devices do not need one. See Appendix 1.
6. Application Management
Yes. App-related data and configurations — application libraries, publish policies (such as blacklists), update policies and kiosk configurations — are migrated to KiwiCloud in the official migration. You can find your published APPs on KiwiCloud under App Management → My App.
For continuity, My Apps on iMinKit remains available — for reference and review of previously published APPs — until December 31, 2026, 23:59. From 2027 it is no longer available, but the APP data continues to be managed on KiwiCloud.
- Upload the new version in iMinKit: go to iMin Store → My Apps and click Add app (available until December 31, 2026, 23:59).
- The new version is synchronized automatically to App Management → My App on KiwiCloud.
- On KiwiCloud, create an app upgrade policy: App Management → App Release Policy → Create App Policy → KC App Policy, choose the app and its latest version, and apply it to a group or specific devices.
From 2027, apps no longer need to be uploaded in iMinKit’s My Apps — you can upload them directly in KiwiCloud’s My App. See Appendix 4 for the iMinKit screens and Appendix 8 – Section 2 for the step-by-step guide.
Yes. The iMin APP Store is upgraded from the legacy iMinKit-controlled interface to the new KiwiCloud platform-controlled interface. The upgrade is mandatory and silent — it is delivered automatically through the upgrade policy and requires no end-user action. You can verify it on a device: the iMin APP Store version is 3.0.97 or higher and its interface looks different from the legacy one (the Remote Assistance version is 3.0.93 or higher).
After migration, end users can no longer download or install apps through the iMin APP Store — it becomes an application viewer showing the apps installed via KiwiCloud-deployed policies (on Android OS 14+ devices, the KC APP plays this role). Customers who do not want end users to browse and download apps therefore no longer need to blacklist it. From 2027, public application publishing moves to a regulated approval process on KiwiCloud and the Google Play Store.
Make sure neither is on the iMinKit APP blacklist before the migration: blacklisting prevents the upgrade policy from being applied. (iMinKit has no whitelist function — “whitelisting” here simply means not blacklisting; it is separate from the network allow-list in Appendix 2.) The Readiness Check runs automatically when you submit the migration application and flags blacklisted apps.
Early applicants whose applications are blacklisted can still migrate: after migration, delete the blacklist policy (synchronized from iMinKit) on KiwiCloud under Configuration → App Push Restriction, after which the upgrade policy can be pushed to the devices. Note that AnyDesk may be temporarily unavailable, because Remote Assistance was not upgraded before migration. Customers with a SoftPOS business: see Q12.
7. Device Management
KiwiCloud supports three device management modes:
| Mode | Eligible devices | License required |
|---|---|---|
| IMA iMinKit Managed Access | Non-GMS iMin Tech-custom Android OS 13 or below (most legacy iMin Devices); GMS-certified Android OS 13 | All license tiers |
| KMA KiwiCloud Managed Access | Android OS 14 and above (including non-GMS), with the KC APP installed | Free Lifetime iMin Essential, iMin Essential, KC Enhanced |
| GMA Google Managed Access | GMS-certified Android OS 13 and above | KC Enhanced |
Most legacy iMin Devices are managed in IMA mode after migration. Non-GMS-certified devices are not eligible for GMA mode regardless of license tier. See Section 2.3.
No hardware changes or replacements are needed, and device OS versions stay as they are. The device-side changes are: the iMin APP Store upgrades to the KiwiCloud-controlled interface; Remote Assistance upgrades to KiwiCloud Remote Assistance; and AnyDesk (with its AD1 plugin) is installed on the devices. All of these are delivered automatically through policies — no manual on-device action is required under normal circumstances.
Yes — the required KiwiCloud domains and ports must be allowed in your network and firewall so that devices can reach KiwiCloud. The complete list is in Appendix 2 – Endpoint Allow-list. You can use the KiwiCloud Diag app (a public APP in the iMin APP Store) on iMin Devices to verify connectivity to the KiwiCloud services before migration. Contact your dedicated CSE if you need help.
The KiwiCloud Device Management → Device List only contains devices that have been enrolled and brought under management. New devices first appear in Enrollment → Device Status; they join the Device List once you configure an enrollment method (Enrollment) and the device is enrolled into KiwiCloud. After migration:
- IMA devices (Android OS 13 or below) activated before migration are in Device Management → Device List.
- IMA devices not activated before migration are in Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate.
- IMA devices newly activated after migration are in … → Unenrolled — enroll them via IMA Zero-Touch (GMS-certified devices can alternatively use GMA QR or GMA Zero-Touch Enrollment).
- Android OS 14+ devices are in Candidate until an enrollment method that includes the device SN (such as GMA QR or KMA Zero-Touch Enrollment) is configured, then in Unenrolled.
See the notes in Section 3.4 for the screenshot. Step-by-step guide: Appendix 8 – Section 1.
Before migration, IMA devices record a snapshot of their current configuration and application versions through the upgraded iMin APP Store. After the account is migrated, KiwiCloud does not send any policies to devices that remain blocked — a protective mechanism that keeps the configuration of live devices unchanged until you are ready. When you want policy management to resume, your system administrator unblocks the devices on KiwiCloud (Device Management → Device List → IMA tab → filter the blocked devices → Action menu): either all at once, or only selected devices to verify on a small scale first. See Unblocking Policy Push (task 4.5).
8. Remote Assistance
KiwiCloud Remote Assistance is the upgraded version of the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance application. Before migration it connects to the original iMinKit remote assistance service (via the third-party Sunlogin service), keeping remote assistance available; after a successful migration and AnyDesk installation it connects to the KiwiCloud remote assistance service, redirecting remote access requests to AnyDesk. The iMin Tech-developed remote assistance service is no longer provided after migration. This dual-service mechanism keeps remote assistance available throughout the migration without interruption.
No. Remote assistance remains free after migration, delivered through KiwiCloud Remote Assistance (AnyDesk). If you need more concurrent remote assistance sessions, contact your KiwiCloud Sales Representative to discuss upgrade options.
No. AnyDesk and its AD1 plugin are installed on devices automatically through the same KiwiCloud app release policy that carries the iMin APP Store and Remote Assistance upgrade — four items in one policy. The Migration Auto-Task adds AnyDesk and AD1 to this policy as part of the migration, and the KiwiCloud team verifies that it has been applied correctly.
After the official migration, devices receive and install AnyDesk progressively: online devices receive it within hours, while devices that are offline at the time receive it when they next come online. Scheduling the migration during low-traffic business hours helps more devices receive AnyDesk promptly. Note that a device whose Remote Assistance was not upgraded before migration cannot obtain its AnyDesk ID — which is why the KiwiCloud team waits for a meaningful portion of devices to upgrade before the Official Migration Auto-Task (see Q7).
No. KiwiCloud uses a customized version of AnyDesk that does not interfere with the free version you installed yourself. One note: if you previously used a paid KiwiCloud AnyDesk license and later switch back to the free version, first remove the configured license from the AnyDesk client; otherwise the free version may show “disconnected by your system administrator”.
Yes. The single concurrent remote assistance session provided under the free tier is shared between the main account and all of its sub-accounts.
Before migration, the iMin Tech-developed Remote Assistance required the end user to enable the feature on the device. After migration, the remote assistance service has moved to AnyDesk: you configure an unattended remote access password once in KiwiCloud (Device Management → Device Policy → Create Policy → KMA Policy, turn on Remote Assistance and set a password, then deploy it to a group or device), and administrators connect with that password. End users do not need to do anything on the device. This gives you full control: before, if an end user inadvertently stopped the unattended remote access function on the device, you could no longer reach the device remotely.
If it still does not work, check that: (1) the device shows an AnyDesk ID in Device Management → Device List — KMA devices come with AnyDesk preinstalled, while IMA devices need AnyDesk and the latest Remote Assistance app (see Q56); (2) the password has not expired — open the device details and click Sync Configuration to send it again. Step-by-step guide: Appendix 8 – Section 4.
默认情况下,迁移后的设备使用永久免费 iMin Essential 许可,支持 IMA(iMinKit Managed Access)和 KMA(KiwiCloud Managed Access)模式。GMA(Google Managed Access)模式以及地理定位功能(设备地图和地理围栏)需要 KC Enhanced。
- 如果该账号仅能访问 KiwiCloud(其邮箱无法登录 iMinKit),则它是 KiwiCloud 独立账号。
Enrollment → Device Status → To Be Managed → Candidate 中。
